from the photo archives

here are some of my favorite photos from high school photography class. there would have been more if i had done all of the assignments, of course i do all of my assigned work now. :)

a ruin of a farm house somewhere in iowa. the assignment was to use tone.

another iowa ruin but not a house, a shed or a root cellar, i don't know.

the Calumet Inn in pipestone, mn.

this was from a free roll assignment but could be a study in perspective.

this assignment was to use a texture screen. i found my assignment sheets and for this photo the teacher wrote "You've used the texture screen correctly - nice printing. Your contact sheet could use a bit more variety. Try to have a little more excitement!" excitement was underlined. for some reason this made me laugh. by the way, this 3 foot bush is now a 20 foot tree.

from the three pictures you may be able to tell that i started to find an interest in photographing architecture. it's too bad that i stopped taking pictures and stopped drawing, it's sad when dreams die (or are killed).
